                    SITE DIARY PAGE 1

Let's go back to the summer of 2001 when the idea for this site was first

thought of. Mom was talking to me in the living room about selling gifts on

the web when the thought came to me to put up a poetry site as well.  I

thought that since we were both poets we could maybe show the world

our creativity and express our thoughts on love as well. So the original idea

for this site was for it to just be a poetry site. When the September 11 2001

attacks happened, mom suggested to me to maybe add a section on uplifting

the spirits of our guests and to motivate and inspire them. So was born the

Inspirations&Motivations part of our site.

I then went out and bought 2 books on HTML for I did truly intend to build

this site using HTML. After working with HTML for a while, I found out just

how much a pain-in-the-a** it was. Just one little period or bracket or anything

off and the whole thing would not work. My frustration outlasted my patience

in this so I decided to buy a copy of Frontpage 2002. I then had to learn it

so that I could build this site. I built a lot of this site with Frontpage 2002

and I did have the site online while I was building it. At the same time I was

building this site in 2002, I was working 3 jobs (1 Full time, 2 Part time) which

left little time to build the site.

I built a lot of the poetry pages first when the thought came to me to add

G-Rock and Asia as the "site guides". My attempt at some humor by adding

them for as I stated earlier, I did not want to just put up only a shopping site.

(What fun would that be?) So I had to redo the home page of the site. When

I had a few pages built, I went in search for a web hosting company so I could

start to transfer my files to a server and to get what I had built online. But

before I did that, I had to choose a site name.

Since G-Rock.com was taken, I thought about .net. And when I found out that

G-Rock.net was not taken, I registered it. So this site at first was named G-Rock

.net. (I have a tale to tell about how it came to be GoGRock.com) Then I started

looking for a hosting company. I called some companies here in Kansas City and

got my eyes opened. (We won't go into names here but believe me I want to!)

One company did not offer enough storage space but wanted to charge a high

price. Another company's sales rep gave such short answers to my questions that

I felt like he was not interested in gaining me as a customer. ( A word to all you future

sales people; TALK TO ME! Try to sell me on your product/service and how it will

benefit me. Don't just tell me the product/service features as I READ THEM TO YOU!)

Still another I was very interested in I spoke to the same salesman 2 times. I called

him back to ask a quick question because I was about to sign up with their company

and he told me that he had meeting and he would call me back when it was done

that day. I never heard back from him. So I had to go elsewhere.

I remembered a company with a full page ad in the back of Entrepreneur magazine

that was located in North Carolina so I called them. I liked what they offered so I

signed up with them. I then started to transfer the site to their servers. And guess

what? GRock.net was online.

Things were still going slow for a while for I was still working 3 jobs and trying to

build on the site when possible. Add to this I took an amazing trip to Hong Kong

in the summer of 2002 for 15 days. Came back and went right back to work on the

3 jobs.

Then things went wrong. When I tried to transfer some files I had built one night

I found out they would not go through. I called the company at least 4 times asking

what was wrong. They told me it was on my end and I need to do this and that in

order to transfer files again. Well I did this and that and nothing happened. So then

I thought maybe it was Frontpage. So I bought another web site building program.

(Remember my HTML skills were just plain FOUL!). I then tried again to transfer

files to the North Carolina company (No names mentioned) and still nothing. So I

knew it was not on my end. 3 months went by with me doing nothing with the site

because I could not find out where the problem was, and the North Carolina

company said it was not on their end.

Now I was in panic mode. So I decided to try another hosting company. I was not

going to call any more companies here in Kansas City again so I decided to try one

in Topeka, Kansas. (About 75 miles away). I looked in the Topeka phone book and

one company's name stood out. Doglegs.com. I called them up and decided to try

them out for 1 month.  Now I had to redirect the name Grock.net from the North

Carolina servers to the Doglegs servers. Having done this I then went BACK to

Frontpage 2002 and tried to FTP (Transfer) the same files I had earlier transferred

to North Carolina. SUCCESS! It was not on my end. Frontpage was still working

fine. (I was mad then and I let the North Carolina company know that whatever they

did or didn't do it cost me 3 months of work).

I then continued to build the site using Frontpage 2002 again. I then bought a copy

of Frontpage 2003 for it was said to be better than 2002. At this time I had no beef

with Doglegs for Brian (The owner) answered all my questions and took great care

of me. But then I made mistake number 2. I decided to change hosting companies.

This was not the fault of Brian at Doglegs.com for he had taken great care of me.

This was my own stupid ass decision. One that I regret. I talked with a company

named AP***.net located in San Diego. I decided to switch hosting to them. I spoke

to them and switched my site to their servers. (After paying them $125 for setup, 1

month hosting, and to re-register the domain name Grock.net from my debit card)

Now all of you who are reading this, please send me an e-mail if I am wrong in the

following story I am about to tell you. (What....haven't I said enough already????)

I placed the order with AP***.net on April 17,2004. But I DID NOT pay for the order

until April 22, 2004. When AP***.net sent me an e-mail receipt after I had paid for

everything, I noticed the receipt was dated April 17. I pointed this fact out to them

and was told that it would be taken care of. Meanwhile I started to work with them

to find out how to use their system to transfer my files to their servers.

Around the 14th of May I wanted to make sure that that the billing date was changed

to the 22nd. So I called San Diego and got the TECH SHOP! (I thought I had dialed

the business/billing office. Come to find out TECH also can do BILLING in this company)

I explained to the tech that I was calling to see if the date was changed from the 17th

to the 22nd. I also told him that this was important to me because I get paid on the 5th

and the 20th and I have my budget set up so that on the 20th I can put the money in

the bank account so that on the 22nd you can withdraw it out the account. I also told

them that since I only placed the order on the 17th but did not pay till the 22nd, that my

billing date should be on the 22nd of every month.

I was told by the tech that he would send billing an e-mail telling them this for the billing

date was still the 17th. So on the 16th I called them again and AGAIN I GOT THE TECH

SHOP! Again I asked them if this date was changed and was told no and also was told

that since I placed the order on the 17th the billing date would be the 17th. Now I am

wondering how can TECH make this decision?

He then gives me billings phone number (Finally!) and I call them and they tell me the

same thing that the date has to stay the 17th. I even tell them why I need it changed to

the 22nd and that it should be the 22nd anyway. They say no go. O.K. I say then cancel

my account. I was told to send an e-mail stating that I wanted to cancel my account with

AP***.net. As soon as I hung up with Billing I sent the cancellation e-mail.

Then I thought that they would still try to take the money out my bank account for I

had to give them the debit card number when I first signed up. So I went down to the

bank and cancelled that debit card and told them to not accept any withdraws from

AP***.net. A dang good move on my part.

About the 21st of May I start getting e-mails telling me that THEY TRIED TO TAKE

THE MONEY OUT MY ACCOUNT BUT COULDN'T! And I need to give them the

new card number to continue with them. I send them a nasty e-mail telling them that

I cancelled my account with them and why I did. (Notice the word "nasty" for I was not

happy that they tried that and I let them know)

Since the 21st of May and up till I finally blocked their e-mails in July, I have been

receiving their e-mails. Never mind the fact that I cancelled my account and then sent

them 2 more nasty e-mails calling them some unpleasant names and to stop e-mailing

me for I am no longer doing ANY business with them. They still persisted in e-mailing

me. (I still have copies of the e-mails if you don't believe me) All this because of a 5 day

time period. Because of AP***.net total unwillingness to work with me or to bend a

little, they lost a valuable paying customer.

I called Brian back at Doglegs and told him that I was coming back to him. I also had

to get another domain name because I re-registered Grock.net with them and did not

want to have anything to do with AP***.net ever again. thus came the new site name

GoGrock.com and Zamona.com.

Since being back with Doglegs.com, I am pleased to say that all has been working

fine and I am building the site with no FTP problems and no payment problems.

O.K. I have said enough on this entry. But you get a good idea how this site came

to be. Look for more entries as to what's going on behind what you see here.
