In Your Arms Tonight

This was written for a friend, to give to her lover. I admit there was a part of me that was

envious of the strength and beauty of their love, but in writing it, I also remembered what it

felt like to be loved and with a man who loved me. I knew that I would one day find that love

again, a strong, warm, caring, romantic and "forever" love. I will do my best to ensure that not

a day goes by, when I don't tell that man, that I love him with all that I am and thank him for

It felt so good to be held in your arms last night

It felt so good to feel your lips upon mine

My body ached so much for your touch

As I felt our arms and legs entwine

I felt your kisses upon my neck

As you snuggled in and held me tight

I felt your breath upon my skin

As you whispered “Darling, it will all be alright”

I needed that reassurance

That only you can give to me

The warmth, the feelings, the tenderness

The love in your eyes that I long so much to see

For it’s that warmth, that love and tenderness

That I feel so very deep inside

For those times when we are not together

It has stilled the tears that I have silently cried

For there are times that we must be alone

Times that take you away from me

Then we are left with those silent nights

Filled with the love and memories

For each night that you hold me so very close

And tell me that you love me so

Those are the nights that keep me warm

The nights that leave me with that wondrous glow

I know that I can always tell you

Of the love that I have for you forever in my heart

This love that covers time and distance

No matter if we are together or apart

So tonight as I feel you hold me close again

I will tell you of the love that I feel for you

Love that grows stronger each and every day

Love that will be forever strong and true

I love you so very very much.
