ABOUT THIS POEM:
This is a poem that I wrote when thinking fantasy took over my
mind and again we went to the stars. (See the poem "(Love) Flight
to the Stars") Also I wanted to format this poem in the same way
like "The Man That You Deserve" in that it has four lines per verse
and each line had to rhyme. For me, poems like this are very hard
yet very rewarding. Wanna try one out like this? If you do, please
share the results with us.
As we gaze up into the night sky
Hand in hand, side by side
Eyes filled with awe, open so wide
Two hearts combining&entwining as one inside
Now we are staring up at a vision of celestial wonder
Gazing at the billions upon billions of stars we are in love under
And as the love in our hearts races like thunder
So much that it puts all our other emotions asunder
On grand display tonight is the starry universe
Witnesses we are to this nights birth
Like infinity, the love in our hearts knows no girth
As now our hearts leave this Earth
Staring up at such a marvelous sight
Holding you close and ever so tight
And the stars themselves shine so bright
Oh how this feels ever so right
Into the night our hearts take flight
As imagination takes our hearts to wondrous new heights
And the starry hosts of heaven shines their lights
Let us pause and thank our creator for his might
So blessed are we to see such splendor
Together we are in love on a night so tender
To us a beautiful night God did render
From him love is the perfect sender
O Great One, thank you for your great art
And thank you for the blessing of letting us take part
For your greatness has bought together the stars and our hearts
And from them may we never depart
