Because of Destiny

I am a firm believer in destiny. As a popular saying goes "people come into our

lives for a reason, a season or a life time". When we first meet someone, we

never know how long they will be with us, or what impact they will have on our

lives. I have been blessed to meet many wonderful people many of whom have

reached out and touched my heart, leaving behind beautiful memories of the times

we have shared. The man for whom I wrote this poem, reached out and touched

my heart and we loved each other dearly. We were not destined to meet face to

face, but that did not make our love any less real. When you tell someone that you

will never love anyone the way you love them, you are speaking the truth, because

we all change due to what happens in our lives, so you can never again be, the

person that you were before they met you. You can only go on to be, the person

that you are meant to be, with or without them. Life is a journey not a destination,

and on that journey, I can only hope that you will be as blessed to meet as many

wonderful people as I have. This poem is written to and because of, one such person.

I have never known a love

As beautiful as the one I share with you

You make my heart sing with so much joy

I know that you must surely hear it too

Not a moment goes by my love

When I don’t feel you in my heart

Though I wish I could just reach out and touch you

And close the miles that keep us apart

You are my inspiration

You give me strength to be strong

In those moments when I am feeling weak

You give me the courage to move on

You do not have to say it with your words

I do not have to see you face to face

For I feel you deep inside of me

I feel your love inside that spiritual place

That place where my spirit lies

The essence of who I am

The part that fell in love with you

And makes me so proud that you’re my man

I know we are going to be together

For our love is truly meant to be

Written on the endless scrolls of time
